Problem - To encourage people to use public transport more
As a group we sat down and wrote down all the areas we could look into.
Walking
Train
Bus
Foreign public transport?
Prices and methods of travelling in 3rd world countries
Death rates
Rickshaws?
App?
We thought we could encourage people to use public transport with the promotion of free wifi games app.
-Play anonymously with people on your transport
-Discount and prizes to be won
-Discount on the tickets etc
-Limit time and amount you can play over a certain time so you can't cheat the system and earn loads of prizes and discounts etc
-Different type of games, simple, retro, brain teasers etc
With this idea, we would be encouraging people to use public transport more through the promise of boredom busters and discount.
However, when we spoke to Simon about this idea, he made it clear the idea we had had to be doable, because this is something we had to follow through with and monitor the success.
So we didn't go with the app idea, Simon suggested using Twitter and other social medias as platforms would work a lot better.
With the idea of using Twitter, we thought of an idea of a challenge a day competition type thing.
Each day we would set a challenge via Twitter to our followers saying what they could draw, take a photo of, video etc on their commute to where ever they're going.
Calling it Creative Commute.
