I did want to use the Z however extending the brackets wouldn't work on all the letters because a lot of them don't have serifs. I think that is a shame because I really like the look of the Z.
After familiarising myself with Illustrator I was able to work on my own alphabet.
I chose this 's' to base my design on because I think it shows capture well. Each side as been
separated and captured and they're black and white, like photography.
I struggled at first at how to cut the letters and make them black and white, so the technician helped me and showed me quick of doing that, which really helped.
This was after the second session where I worked out how to cut the letters, I think this looks good but benefits from the separation of colours.

This selection of letters shows the process of what I did, of cutting them out and then making half white with a black outline. I also just think these are a few of my favourite letters from the alphabet.
This is the final alphabet, which I'm really happy with. I think each letter gives the idea of being captured physically as well as through photography. I think they work well as a set and flow well.
